by Maghsood Salehi

Synopsis
Unattended Objects is a solo multimedia performance exploring identity, migration and the idea of return. Maghsood Salehi draws on his experience as a journalist in exile to travel on an imaginary journey returning to his home, Tehran, in disguise. Maghsood aims to to play with the possibilities of the use of multimedia and sensory aspects to create a visceral piece of performance, culminating in a final draft of the script.

United by their passion for the themes of the performance Maghsood will work with video artist Arash Ashtiani, Seemia's very own Charlotte Slater as Director, and academic Pooya Ghoddousi to explore fusing his first hand experience of exile with verbatim stories and digital videos. They aim to create a piece that transports the audience through an immersive experience of memory and nostalgia.
Unattended Objects is created by longterm collaborator and associate dramaturg Maghsood Salehi and co-produced by Seemia Theatre.
Unattended Objects is currently in development, with Maghsood as an Artist In Residence at artsdepot, and supported as part of CPT's Seed Commissions.
