From ancient Persian, Seemia translates as ‘Casting a spell with words’... join us for an evening of truly spellbinding new work. We’re proud to showcase some of the most exciting new work, with rehearsed readings of new plays, a scratch performance of Seemia’s new production ‘Saria Callas’ and much more!
Next year is going to be big for us, so join us for one night only to get a taste of what more is to come.
As a small organisation, we endeavour to champion new work and to give a platform to artists from Middle Eastern, North African and Latinx communities.
During Gate Theatre's run of Sanaz Toosi's production of 'Wish You Were Here', will will be curating an evening celebrating MENA and Latinx talent with fresh scratches and rehearsed readings.
Featuring Seemia's very own Sara Amini in her sexy yet serious solo-show 'Saria Callas', and Manuel Lavandera & Maryam Davari in a new physical devised piece 'Eclipsed'.
We're proud to be supporting the scratch from associate Maghsood Salehi Arashloo's 'Unnatended Objects' and a rehearsed reading of Héctor Manchego's new play 'Mother/Land'.
We will also be joined by Shahin Rezvani reading 'The Retreating World’ by
Naomi Wallace.
